‘The Icon Series – Charles Aznavour’
Charles Aznavour, the small man with the unmistakable voice, a slightly hoarse tone he once saw as a weakness, but which became his greatest strength. His path to fame was shaped in part by French legend Édith Piaf, who took him under her wing. Aznavour began by writing songs for others, including Gilbert Bécaud and Johnny Hallyday, before stepping into the spotlight himself in 1956 with a breakthrough performance at the Olympia in Paris. From that night on, his star rose quickly; on stage and on screen.

But most will remember him for timeless classics like ‘La Bohème’, ‘La Mamma’, ‘She’, and ‘The Old Fashioned Way’the latter two delivered in his charmingly French-accented English.

This Icon Series edition includes a CD featuring his greatest hits from 1955 to 1962. With rare photos and interviews, it offers a rich portrait of one of the most iconic voices in global music history.
